The cupholder is my favorite part.

Yes.

Key West was amazing. Got 37 lobbies down there and Dylan even said that they tasted alright! We did so much on the trip but I really don't feel like typing that much. Went camping last night with Oliver and Katie hungout for a little bit. Those weird stoners haha...."Don't worry honey, the lightnin' won't hit us just 'cuz we been bad". Got some gnarly IF now too. Let's just let pictures do the talking.

This pic has crappy lighting and doesn't show the callouses, webcams just don't do justice for this kinda thing.

Oh, and according to Young Arab we can no longer reuse our Subway cups :'(

Vacations, Birthdays, and "Gang Repping"

The trip to Michigan and Ohio and various other places was crazy. Jacob Wells, may you rest in peace with God whom you newly found just in time. My birthday was great, hungout with Devin some and then with Corinne. It was all good until her and I were walking out in front of the pavilion in the parking lot and a cop yelled at me from a balcony to take my hat off. Mind you this was the hat Devin and I had just purchased that morning and I made a Florida stencil and freehanded 941 on the front with Sharpie. Anyways the hat happened to be a red trucker hat so he yelled at me saying "you can't fly colors in public parks" or some BS. I though he was yelling at me about my Subway cup for having a straw and lid at the beach so I just said that we were leaving. He yelled even louder and I swear he reached for his taser hahaha. "TAKE IT OFF!" That was a bummer but oh well, some cops are just on powertrips in this town. Do I really strike you as a gang member? Seriously? Oh well, Corinne and I said our "goodbyes" at an access and I headed off to the village to fill up my SW cup. Walked to Devin's then we went to Target and Marshall's. Came home and went to Burrito's with the family and then came home and watched some Burn Notice that I missed and the new episode. Pretty exciting day I guess?

The housing for the 30D works, the bimini has been fixed, both speakers work, fixing the other shortboard tomorrow once I find some extra hardware, a little bit more packing and we are off to KEY WEST!

Anna Maria Island

Was so much fun today.

Left at a little before 10 so Oliver could go to a dentist appointment (poor guy found out he has a cavity). I hadn't gotten breakfast so I skated over to McDonald's to get a breakfast burrito, hash brown, and a sweet tea. Man, I forgot how badly my stomach settles after McD's breakfast ( I wouldn't have recommended using the Big Lots! bathroom for an hour or so). Then I skated back over to Oliver's Xterra and set my phone and wallet on the front of the winch (I later found out that was a big mistake) and messed around trying some shuvs. Oliver comes out and we left to go to Speedway gas sation and apparently I found out later that my wallet fell off at that point in front of the station. Fortunately I grabbed my phone before but forgot the wallet somehow. Then we were off on our way to AMI! We got a little lost because Mapquest doesn't Exactly know Travis' little neighborhood offshoot but we found it eventually. After meeting him and his Mom is when I went back to the car and realized that I lost my wallet. Called my Mom up and she was on it. So thanks to every one involved in that including my Mom, Dad, Aunt Kathy, and most importantly, Richard Purdy for having the integrity to pick it up off the road and call up the first Kornhaus he found in the phonebook. It took a little bit to get his boat started but I got it eventually and then we were off! We ended up riding in a channel but it was so much fun, Travis shreds with such nice style. After we were done there we went back to his house and then went to Subway and used our "bottomless cups" and Oliver paid for my 6 incher, thanks buddy, and got to hear some interesting stories from some stoners near us... Then we tried to winch in front of a like apartment complex but after Travis took one quick run some foreign guy trying to act like the manager gave us the nix and we had to peace out. I tried to be nice and pick up a crushed Bud Light that someone littered with near where we had the winch set up and threw it away but then realized that the guy probably thought I was drinking it earlier....great. We then drove around and just as I turned the music up to kick back Travis spotted a nice little what I would call an unfinished canal back on a road. It was saltwater<3 Perfect set up (Travis you need to get a rail in there). After shredding there for awhile we dried off and packed up and dropped Travis off and said our goodbyes then headed off down to Longboat to retrieve my wallet. After getting directions from a raspy-voiced chain smoker we found the Publix that Richard, the guy who picked up my wallet, worked at back in the meat department. He gave it back to me then I realized that I need his address to send him a thank you card and after I got it and after I bought Ollie an Arizona we headed home. Showered off then went to Moe's. Then to Livingston's to punch the bag, that thing is rigged even though I didn't do too bad Quinton was getting gypped. Then some shenanigans were happening throughout the ride home and cruisingf around the Key and of course some "HEY GIRL!"s were thrown in.

Overall, I love God, life, family, friends, wakeskating, kind people, and oppurtunities like the ones I am blessed with.

Cherry Poppin'

She's a beauty but can be a bit shallow when you're done if you know what I mean.

In other news I bought the largest cup available at Subway since my last one seems to have been misplaced. Much gypping will be be occurring with that not so lil' guy. Also, with the help of Matt, I got the POS rail out of Ebay and brought it back to my house. It fell apart during removal so after it dries I will rebuild it and add PVC to it. Ebay is the most disgusting pond I've ever been in and I swear I saw a mutated fish 2 feet in front of me.

Independence Day!

Today was great. Drove around with Oliver and after 5 visits to the hardware store I finally got my longboard fixed and then we went to Thomas' and watched the hot dog eating contest, 68 hot dogs is ridiculous... Then Ollie and I went to Subway and I used my "bottomless refill" cup (Oliver, I need to get that out of your cupholder so don't throw it away) there and he got a sub. Corey came in then we went to Turtle to offroad down an empty lot. Came back and picked Thomas and Angela up and chilled at Subway some more then Oliver and I peaced out and he dropped me off at the beach. I then realized I left my phone and wallet in his Xterra...so I definitely logged some miles on my longboard, unfortunately I'm always barefoot and strips of Higel don't feel too good. Then I cleaned the Maggio's pool and watered their plants and washed off then as I was longboarding to Oliver's I saw my first girlfriend at their neighbor's across the street...awkward. Oliver and I got some fireworks rounded up which we never ended up using except for those poppers that we threw at pedestrians as we drove past. Quinton showed up and put his cooler and skateboard in the back and we were set to go. Got to Siesta Market and bought some Mountain Dew and ice and then met up with Matt and parked at Glebe park and skated on over to the beach for fireworks. Since I had the longboard I put the cooler on there and leaned on it and pushed which actually helped me get going pretty fast. We got there and walked through Mexiville and posted up right up on the boundary line to the fireworks display and then some of us went around trying to bum food off people and steal leftovers. We never ended up getting any so we were pretty hungry. We went back and sat there for another hour or so and waited for it to start and when it finally did it was pretty good. That finale was banger. We peaced out as soon as it was over to beat the ped traffic and just cruised over to the empty lane and hauled ass in the same manner as before, that was pretty sketch, pushing a cooler on a longboard with barefeet on some wobbly trucks going fast in less than 2 feet of asphalt with oncoming traffic passing right by us. After a "HEY GIRL" we turned onto Glebe then went to Matt's so he could drop his truck off and then went off to Taco Bell. Some dumbass braked fast right in front of us and we almost rearended them but it was okay thanks to Oliver's speedy braking and fairly new brakes. We got there and just brought in the drinks we bought earlier and waited in line and then a kid from my Digital Design class came in there baked, "Mexican pizza....they can do that?!" Then after we ate some of it we drove home. I felt bad for Quinton, he had a lot of traffic to go through to get home. Overall there were lots of "HEY GIRL"s today and lot's of chillin'.

Fortunately I have no obligation to post here or else I'd be screwed

These past weeks have been crazy but I must shorten them up into note form for seeing as I need to actually get some sleep tonight to get up early to winch.

-I got a fishtank
-Oliver got his license and an Xterra
-Grant has landed like 12 kickflips
-Dylan has landed 2
-I don't think I've landed anything new
-The Nailer is amazing
-I'm pretty sure Transformers 2 had a C* decal lurkin' on a helmet in there
-I need a job still
-Music is killer
-As are Blackberrys
-And of course so is Sarasota, The 941, and Siesta Key altogether as a whole.

Toe Jam Wake

Today was the boat part of Toe Jam 2009 at Correct Craft's boat testing lake in Orlando. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

EJ got the shot.

Rainy Day

So it rained today and was a pretty dreary day so Devin picked me up after he dropped Dylan off at YMCA. We did the usual pier scoping til a cop was pulling up so we went to the Village Davidson's Drugs and chilled there for awhile and saw a WAY overpriced piece of art haha and then picked up some cheap food and drinks and I snagged some SK stickers for $3. We then proceeded to the South Key DD and befriended some lady that just got on her shift and knew a teacher at our school, I wasn't fooled though, she was just making sure we weren't stealing stuff. They had some strange toys there though. We then proceeded to the other tourist shop up the strip and Devin got a little shell turtle for his significant other. I think he needs a turtle paradise theme under his head unit in the white 'hoe but he somewhat disagrees.

Also anyone who has heard of Blackwings, Redwings- I feel sorry for you.

Solid gold?

Horny Sea Cow.

Picked up my boat at 9 this morning and got to ride around 11 =D
Boat ran okay, just the usual cutting out when the throttle is slammed down too hard. It would have been flat if it wasn't for the other boats. Those weekend warriors need to learn how to drive. I introduced the fact to Dylan and Devin today that they can come to The Keys to shred, spear, fish, eat, and enjoy life with me down there, they seemed pretty enthused. We also went to see Taken at the dollar theater (really $1.50 for a ticket, but they slam you on food prices) it was a good movie and I suggest seeing it if you haven't already, especially if you enjoy seeing a 50+ year old man kill around 30 people with his fists, elbows, and maybe 10 bullets. Came back to the Maggio residence and played some good ole "monkey in the middle" with Dante and Devin, then went wakeskating with Dylan and Oliver and landed my first backside 180 during the sunset sesh and Dylan a nice 3 shove. Upon pulling up to Dylan's dock we came to realize that Grant and his school crew were jumping off the bridge...with Grant being completely naked. After being scarred by said sight I came home and showered off and made a DiGiornio's supreme pizza nomnomnomnom.

Contest coming up soon so stay tuned for more details.

An old idea

So a few months ago I was pushing a half-empty bowl of soup (Ramen noodles to be precise) around on the counter. Have you ever done this? The liquid sploshes back against the direction of the force and then sways with the force's direction and pushes the side of the bowl thus pushing the bowl forward even more. What if this was applied into a wakeskate? It would make pokes level out and possible even push the nose downward some. In theory it would help a kickflip rotate the last 180 degrees on the X-axis faster but perhaps sloppier? 3 Shoves I'd imagine would be easier too. It's all speculation but what if I could split the plys on a wood wakeskate and hollow out a recess and insert a rectangular plastic shell 3/4 full of water and seal the top and bottom back together? This is making me really curious on it's effectiveness.

The journey to Toe Jam

The winners!

^^^^^Great way to wake up VVVVVVV

So I guess I flipped the order of pictures around, my bad. It was a fun day and won't soon be forgotten. My favorite part had to be the free milk dispenser at the hotel that night nomnomnomnom

My grades suck.
Exactly three months 'til I'm 16.
I intend on not washing my hair with any soaps during summer.
I wish I was at Toe Jam.
Devin's surgery was today. (our contest is still on!)
Apparently Dylan landed another backbig the other day and a crazy assortment of other things today. Kudos to him.

25 more days of school!

I'm sorry.

It's been forever since I've been on here seeing as I seemed to had forgotten my password because I'm not using my universal one with it's unique numbers here...

Anyways in the past month or so A LOT has happened with not even that much riding. Devin found a new spot back in the kayak trails and I checked it out with a kayak and cleared it safe for a ski to get back there so Grant, Oliver and I went back one day and those two shredded it but the kayakers didn't seem to appreciate our presence.

Clark Becker from Indiana came down to The Key for his spring break which unfortunately was a few weeks before ours but we still managed to winch a couple times and take a few boat sets and he got his first kickflip and FS flip in months which was great seeing as he hadn't rode behind a boat in many months.

Spring break was fun. Even though we didn't "winch everyday of break" (or at all) as planned by Devin we still managed to have a good time. Went camping Tuesday night on Edward's Island which happened to be the coldest night of the week but still had a great time. Went and rode on that private lake near Fruitville (I hate the taste of freshwater, Salt Life FTW). Of course the last Sunday was Easter so it was more of a chill day and my former teacher presented me with the proposal of hitting a sketchy ramp from one pond to another in a few weeks so that should be up here whenever that is done.

Only 32 days left of school! Or something in that range...

God Bless,
Collin.

In my absence...

I have been slacking on posting here for a few days but I promise it will be well worth it as my Canon 30D arrived today which = plenty of media to post up here soon!

For now, enjoy the rusty chain on the side and the new banner!
